At first glance, its cleaning pattern doesn't seem logical to us, but the Roomba 698 does follow a logic and navigates in a triangular pattern. By touching objects in your home, Roomba recognises whether the object is "soft" or "hard". So if Roomba encounters hard and solid objects, it will change direction but continue to follow its triangular pattern.
