We bought the air filter almost exactly a year ago and the appliance has been running 24/7 on automatic since that day. Today the appliance shows a residual value of 25% of the filter. I vacuum the filter about once a month as it naturally collects dust.
The appliance is great and I think the price of the filter is ok for the fact that it "lasts" a whole year.
I have an air filter from Fellowers in the company and the filter costs over CHF 150.

The filter of the Elite lasts > 1 year. No comparison to the Xiaomi Mi air purifiers 2s and 3c, which last about 1/2 year. The price for the filter of 2s and 3c is about 35. The Air Purifier Elite is great. The two small 2s and 3c (3 pieces) will soon be replaced by a second Elite. The generic products are a thing of the past: Xiaomi filters are linked to the filters and report the consumption of the filters and the duration of remaining use via AP (Xiaomi Home). So it's useful. Regarding the activated carbon filter: It not only cleans common odours but also binds volatile organic compounds (VOCs and chemical vapours) in the air. Best regards

I have also asked myself the question about a different filter and have not found a solution. Perhaps another user knows what to do 😬
What I do know is that the filter still filters particles despite having 0% service life. Use can be extended by cleaning the filter.
