Slightly different operation: the 3587 has 13 built-in programmes - for different types of 'milk foam' (see list in the description). With the 3586 you seem to be able to simply set the temperature. We have the 3587 - although the many programmes tend to confuse us, we can't really decipher the pictograms that are then displayed by heart ;-) But it's a great machine - and you can make foam for more than one person at the same time: the 70 cl are extremely worthwhile if 4 people want to drink capuccino for breakfast. We didn't have the 3586 back then - it would probably be enough for us.
