You can move the robot vacuum and mop manually between floors, empty the dustbin by hand, and place it back on the base station as often as needed to complete cleaning on multiple levels. It is not necessary to have more than one robot or base station for use across different floors. The robot does not store maps after cleaning cycles, so it will remap each time it starts on a new floor. Manual dustbin emptying and repositioning is the intended way to use it in multi-floor homes with steps.
