I use the D10 Plus via WIFI, and everything works fine. As for a smartphone hotspot, on rereading the instructions, I'd say yes to a direct connection. But what's certain is that all the remote control options disappear as soon as the smartphone, and therefore the hotspot, are out of range of the D10.

Many thanks for the answer. Dreame technical support told me that everything also works via hotspot and you don't necessarily need wifi. I wanted to have this confirmed, but unfortunately the statements now contradict each other. I don't quite understand why there is no clear and conclusive statement on this.
