Hi Jenny, I rinse the jug by hand if necessary. It's quicker ;-) The design is certainly suitable for the dishwasher. However, Bialetti doesn't say anything about this - on other retailers' websites it is sometimes described as dishwasher-safe and also dishwasher-safe.

A friend puts them in the dishwasher and it seems to be OK. I'm not a fan of this and always clean them by hand.

Our Venus has been in the dishwasher for 2 years and doesn't seem to suffer - I don't know if that's what the manufacturer intended...
