The instructions for use state that a supply line with a 16 ampere household circuit breaker is recommended. Does the tea kettle pose a safety risk when connected to a standard Swiss socket (10 amps)?
This is not a security risk. It is as naimasani writes: If another appliance needs a lot of power at the same time, the fuse can blow. But nothing happens.
16 amperes is the minimum - this means that the fuse must not be higher than 16 amperes. A 10 ampere (smaller) fuse is therefore perfectly OK!
It does not. My parents' fuse is also 10 amps (same kettle). The power that can be drawn from this socket is 10 amperes times 230V equals 2300 watts. The kettle needs between 1850 and 2200 watts. Like all other kettles of this size. However, you won't have a spare for a hoover or something. If you want to use both at the same time and both sockets are connected to the same fuse, it will simply blow.
