The major difference is simply the colour of the front panel, the more expensive one being glossy black and not some kind of brushed aluminium. However I seem to have read somewhere during my pre-purchase research that on the EP5447/90 model it had had a small upgrade for a slightly quieter operation. So far I am satisfied with my purchase.
