A battery other than one from the Gen5 will not fit. I have contacted Dyson-Switzerland directly to order a replacement battery. According to Dyson, spare parts will be available on the market about 3-5 months after launch. But not until then (for whatever reason....) But it should be possible to order replacement batteries soon.
P.s. if you order the Gen5detectet, take the one with the bronze tube. It has the kink element, which the gen5 in purple does not have. Nobody was able to answer why this is the case. 😊😊 hope to have helped you.
