As long as the warranty is still valid, I suggest to use the recommended ones, even if they are more expensive the savings may not match the possible service fees charged and it is hard to prove that the defect was not caused by using another product.
Outside warranty, you may feel free to try if they are chemically close to identical. But remember it could be hard to fix the machine yourself.
