The sleeves are zippered and removable, allowing the jacket to turn into a vest for extra freedom of movement. The inner fleece lining is removable and can also be worn independently. Both the outer shell and the fleece jacket have special concealed pockets for documents, zippered side pockets, and shoulder loops for attaching a radio.

Additional protection from the cold and weather is provided by the roll-up and detachable hood, adjustable storm cuffs, and elastic waistband. The zippered side openings serve as cooling vents and also allow quick access to the equipment located inside the jacket.
