Its stable and extremely lightweight honeycomb structure consists of numerous small tubes that are thermally bonded together. Upon impact, they deform over a large area and absorb energy. Additionally, the stable construction allows for significantly enlarged openings in the helmet's surface, ensuring excellent ventilation. Ventilation channels guide air along the inside of the helmet around the head. The Altona also features an adjustable upper shell for active climate management. Whether on a cool morning or in the hot evening traffic, ventilation is always optimal. However, the Altona is much more than just a helmet. It combines a helmet and goggles in one, thanks to the integrated shatterproof visor. It is available with and without Varioflex, Alpina's technology that ensures perfect visibility in all lighting conditions. The self-tinting (photochromatic) lens reacts to UV light and automatically darkens. With its lightweight silver mirror coating, infrared rays are reflected, and 100% UV protection is guaranteed at all times. An additional advantage: there is also enough space behind the visor for optical glasses.
