Product details

Urban Taraxagum - Give something back to your city! The tire made from dandelion for a sustainable lifestyle. Grown and manufactured in Germany. With a comfortable race design – ideal for urban use. The Urban Taraxagum from Continental is the first mass-produced bicycle tire made from dandelion rubber. The project is part of a broader sustainability strategy that considers economic, ecological, and social aspects. By significantly reducing the distances between the cultivation areas and the European tire factories, Continental can minimize logistics and transport efforts and use resources more sustainably.

Vectran - The benchmark in puncture protection. Vectran is a synthetic high-tech fiber inspired by nature. Like spider silk, Vectran is a liquid crystalline polymer (LCP). Vectran is spun from the molten liquid polymer Vectra and processed into a multifilament yarn. Both spider silk and Vectran have an enormous tear resistance at minimal weight. These are exactly the right properties to be used as a puncture protection insert in a top Continental tire. A Vectran breaker is lighter, more flexible, and offers more effective protection against cuts than comparable nylon breakers. The Vectran breaker does not affect rolling resistance.
