A conventional sonar sends a single frequency pulse at a time. A CHIRP (Compressed High Intensity Radiated Pulse) sonar continuously transmits various frequencies that range from low to high. For this reason, the sonar readings are much clearer and have a higher resolution compared to conventional sonars.
