The functional cut features pre-shaped knees that combine with stretch fabric for optimal freedom of movement. There are two slit pockets and spacious zippered leg pockets for maps or similar items. The leg cuffs have a drawstring and boot hooks to prevent them from riding up. Reinforcements at the hem and on the inside of the calves protect against wear.

G-1000 Lite is made of 65% polyester and 35% cotton. It weighs less and is cooler than the original fabric, making it well-suited for light hiking clothing in summer and for travel clothing that needs to be durable. The fabric is sewn with ripstop threads, ensuring durability despite its relatively low weight.
