The Mayhem 3.0 is a completely new fin. The trend in modern high-performance shortboards is moving towards more curve under the back foot for critical surfing in the pocket. We felt the need to develop a fin for this board rocker. We wanted a slightly larger base, more rake, and a narrower tip compared to our long-standing thruster template.

The idea behind the base and rake is to provide more resistance and bite when diving deep into turns while maintaining drive through tight turn radii. The reduced tip area with tapered flex allows for more release and freedom for quick transitions in and out of turns. We took this fin for controlled, repeatable testing in wave pools and also collaborated with our crew of elite surfers of varying sizes to gather feedback and suggestions.
