Product details
After more than two years of development, the Maxxis Assegai is finally here. Greg Minnaar's signature tire embodies the essence of his 30 years of racing experience and Maxxis's expertise from over 50 years of tire production. The Assegai is a combination of the Minion DHF, Minion DHR II, and the HighRoller, designed using the best Maxxis profiles.
Exo Protection: This extremely cut- and abrasion-resistant material protects the sidewalls of various MTB tires. It is tightly woven, lightweight, and very flexible, ensuring that the tire's performance remains impressively good.
3C MaxxTerra: The freeride variant of the 3C tires. It offers significantly more grip and traction due to softer compounds while maintaining an acceptable rolling resistance, allowing for good climbing before the exciting descent, and providing long durability.
Tubeless Ready: Tubeless tires have many advantages: you can run at lower air pressures, which improves traction and reduces rolling resistance. And where there is no tube, the risk of punctures decreases. Maxxis TR tires are better prepared for mounting with sealant than other tubeless ready tires. The bead of our TR tires is completely covered with a rubber layer, just like a true UST tubeless tire. This makes tubeless mounting successful on all standard-sized rims right from the first inflation with minimal liquid.
Wide Trail: The Wide Trail construction optimizes the tread layout and tire shape for today's modern wider rims. Traditional tires are designed for narrow rims and take on a too-angular shape on wider rims, resulting in less than optimal performance. All Maxxis WT tires are optimized for an inner rim width of 35 mm but work excellently on all rims with an inner measurement between 30 and 39 mm.
