By the way, we attach a lock holder directly to the frame. It's not really a case. We have them on both our bikes and we are very happy with them! It doesn't take up any space in the bags!
If available on the bicycle, the lock holder can be attached with the bottle cage screws. Alternatively, a kind of cable tie is also supplied with the lock, with which the lock holder can be attached to the frame. I don't know how stable the latter is, but I fixed mine with the screws.
