According to the manufacturer, both are dishwasher safe

Hi, according to the description, all parts are dishwasher safe (only the top compartment). I have only washed it by hand myself, but the bottle makes a robust impression (for being made of glass). If everyday glasses can withstand the dishwasher, so can this bottle. The silicone can be removed, by the way.

Yes, the container is made of glass. A good thick glass like in Pyrex dishes. It's a bit heavy for hiking, but on a workstation it's fine to keep hydrated.
