Celestron StarSense Explorer Dobson 10
The Celestron StarSense Explorer Dobson 10 and the Celestron NexStar 8SE are both excellent telescopes, but they have different strengths and areas of application: DAs Celestron StarSense Explorer Dobson 10: Advantages: Larger aperture (10 inches) for more light gathering, ideal for deep sky objects. Easy to use with the StarSense Explorer app, which makes it easy to find celestial objects. Disadvantages: No motorised tracking, which means you have to manually track the telescope. Celestron NexStar 8SE: Pros: Computerised GoTo function that allows automatic finding and tracking of celestial objects. More compact and easier to transport. Disadvantages: Smaller aperture (8 inches) compared to the Dobsonian, which means less light collection. Regarding the use of StarSense AutoAlign with a Dobsonian telescope: The Star Sense Auto Align system is mainly designed for Celestron's computerised telescopes and does not work with non-motorised Dobsonian telescopes.
