The Galaxy Watch cannot connect directly to the heart rate monitor as it does not support ANT+ and cannot be linked via Bluetooth. However, you can integrate and use accessories with the Health app. This means you have to take your mobile with you when training with an HR chest strap.

Also suitable for swimming?

The heart rate monitor is not suitable for swimming as it does not transmit heart rate data while swimming. However, it is waterproof up to a pressure of 1 ATM, which means that it can withstand rain, snow or showers, but is not intended for long-term underwater use.

The heart rate monitor is not suitable for swimming as it does not transmit heart rate data when swimming. Although it can withstand pressure up to a depth of 10 metres, the transmission of heart rate data does not work under water.

As the Forerunner 165 Music has Bluetooth and ANT+ (both transmission standards that this HRM supports), I assume that this should be possible. This heart rate monitor can also be connected to my Sigma Velocomputer and my Concept II Indoor Rower. One can use Bluetooth and the other ANT+. This does not depend on the manufacturer, as these wireless technologies are standardised.

I can't answer this question, because I haven't really made the chest strap work yet. Correctly put on and humidified, the connection is confirmed on the watch, then I start on the cross trainer or cycle ergometer and the pulse rate display on the watch goes out after a short time and the app does not record anything either....
