Product details
Shimano's Deore Rapid Fire Plus shifter provides smooth and responsive shifting, offering better control on the trail. Rapidfire Plus has been used by mountain bikers since 1985 and remains the top choice for various rider groups, from XC racers to freeriders and downhillers. Rapidfire Plus is designed for quick shifting, allowing the rider to downshift by up to three gears with a single lever pull. All Rapidfire Plus shifters, from Shimano Deore to XTR, feature 2-Way Release, meaning the shift cable can be released by pulling with the index finger or pushing with the thumb.
The trigger of a Rapidfire Plus shifter is often referred to as a trigger because it is pulled towards the grip like a gun's trigger. The trigger mechanism of the Rapidfire Plus shifters from Shimano Alivio to XTR can be operated in the same way, and it can also be shifted using thumb pressure if desired.
The Optical Gear Display shows the rider the currently selected gear. The rider can see how many gears are available for shifting up and down, allowing for more conscious shifting.
