The new Sram Centerline X floating disc has been designed to achieve a consistent coefficient of friction throughout its rotation, thereby reducing vibrations, ensuring consistent performance, and providing a smooth operation. To meet the safety requirements of the UCI, Sram has rounded the edges of the discs to eliminate any 90° angles, which aims to reduce the risk of injury in the event of a mass crash in the peloton.
