In the Global Series by Recta, the needle and magnet are mounted separately. The needle does not hang in critical magnetic field lines but can rotate freely. The needle itself swings on a sapphire bearing in anti-static fluid and settles quickly. With Suunto's DP system, you don't have to think upside down when taking a bearing, as the mirror is located below the compass housing and does not obstruct your view. The degree markings on the compass rose are in a 360° division. When opened, the compass has an 11 cm long edge and sight line. The Suunto MB-6 G features declination correction using the included mini screwdriver. On the back of the mirror, there is a conversion table that allows you to convert the degrees read from the inclinometer into percentage of slope. The Suunto MB-6 comes with a lanyard, a tool for declination adjustment, and a detailed manual.

Many of you are familiar with the Swiss Recta compasses, a classic from the military. Many of you have probably also noticed the similarity between Recta compasses and Suunto compass models. There is a simple reason for this: Recta was acquired by Suunto in 1996. However, the compasses continued to be produced under the Recta brand and with the Swiss coat of arms for a long time. Today, all of these compasses are manufactured in Finland by Suunto, one of the world's largest manufacturers of precision measuring instruments such as diving instruments, sports watches, and compasses. Recta, or Suunto, supplies the armies of Switzerland, Austria, and Canada with their compasses. Recently, the Recta compasses produced by Suunto are now being sold under the Suunto brand.
