Wolf Tooth was the first to bring cyclocross-specific 1x chainrings to market, as we saw cyclocross as the perfect application for our Drop-Stop® technology. Since their introduction, the uses for these chainrings have expanded beyond cyclocross to road bikes, gravel bikes, mountain bikes with 5-arm cranks, and power meter cranks.

Compatibility:
This chainring is designed for use with 110 BCD 5-arm cranks. Original 2x bolts will not work. You will need bolts like our 6 mm bolts, which are optimized for single-ring mounting.

Chain Compatibility:
9, 10, 11, and 12-speed Eagle - This chainring is designed for all 9-speed, 10-speed, and 11-speed chains. It also works with 12-speed Eagle and 12-speed KMC chains. It does not work with the Shimano 12-speed Hyperglide + chain or the SRAM 12-speed Flattop chain.

10, 11, and 12-speed Eagle and Flattop - This chainring is designed for all 10-speed and 11-speed chains. It also works with 12-speed SRAM Flattop, SRAM Eagle, and KMC chains. They do not work with the Shimano 12-speed Hyperglide + chain. Shimano 12-speed chains require the use of our Shimano 12-speed specific chainrings. When using a 9-speed drivetrain, use a 10-speed chain.

The chainline may vary. This chainring can be mounted either in the large or small ring position on a 2x crank. The most common mounting position is in the large chainring position due to the chainstay spacing. The center of the chainring is approximately 2 mm from the mounting surface of the ring, so it typically sits about 2 mm closer to the frame than the original large chainring (depending on the standard ring).
