The YT-74236 safety shock absorber with a rope and two snap hooks is part of a fall arrest system that connects fall arrest harnesses to the anchor point. The safety shock absorber is made of properly sewn polyester strap. When the fall is arrested, specially designed seams gradually tear, slowing down the speed of the fall.
