Due to its neutral pH value (7.0) and the non-irritating nature of its components, it is ideal for use on surfaces close to the eyes. Its base consists solely of deionized water and contains no organic solvents, as these could evaporate under immersion conditions and affect the surfaces as well as the eye fluids. When applied correctly, it forms a protective film that prevents the condensation of micro-droplets on the surface it was used on. The low concentration of surfactants and the included silicone extend its effectiveness for about 2 hours, depending on conditions.
