Could this camera also be used to monitor a detached house or the garden area and driveway? However, the focus would not be on observing wild animals but rather on security around the house and therefore people would be recorded. The idea is that the camera can then be hidden in a hedge and would therefore not be visible.

I'm super happy with it as a wildlife camera. I don't see it for surveillance: only records and doesn't give an alarm if anything moves. It needs 8 AA batteries that last at least 3 months, but do you change batteries for years for surveillance?
I have an Arlo and a Reolink for surveillance (although the Reolink is more robust and charges the battery better with the solar panel).

Basically yes. However, the camera records the images or films, but cannot send a message or alarm. And the Bluetooth range for retrieving the images is relatively short. (3-4 m)
