The TOPO Switzerland map is on a micro SD card and this is inserted into the Garmin Edge 1030. This means that you always have the Topo Switzerland maps on the device for navigation or to determine your position. All Swiss cycling and biking routes as well as all Swiss bike routes are available. Ask yourself the question: Do I need the device for navigation or simply to record my cycling activities? Do I ride a lot on the roads or also off-road with my bike? For me, there is nothing better than the Topo Switzerland map. I ride a lot on dirt roads and small roads and they are all on the Topo Switzerland map, I can't say how accurate the other Garmin maps are because I haven't used them yet.

The vector map preinstalled on the Garmin Edge 1030 is usually sufficient for navigation on roads and larger paths. I notice this abroad, where I am usually on the road with my racing bike and where there is no detailed map available. Off-road, on bike tours in Switzerland, however, I really appreciate the richness of detail of the Topo Switzerland map. It helps with navigation, you can recognise terrain structures and many helpful details, and the Swiss hiking trails, Swiss cycling routes and Swiss single trails are also shown. I would not want to do without it.
