I was faced with the same consideration - I chose the Fenix 7 Solar, also because of the longer battery life compared to the S. It fits great, I'm happy. Take a look at YouTube videos, in some you can see the size on the wrist. The S is - I think - more for the ladies. The picture here shows how big it is:

On many other pictures it looks huge, I think this is the even bigger version, which would be too fat for me :)
