Hello, my MCF40 has a strange coil whine. When the compressor is running, it makes a shrill sound that probably works great as a marten deterrent, but ruins your holiday next to the tent. I've also seen a review video about it from a user. Is this beeping also noticeable with your models or have I got a faulty model?

It depends on how good your ears are, the whirring comes from the carrier frequency of the BLDC control of the compressor, which unfortunately only runs at 8khz, as the manufacturer has failed to install a microcontroller that is fast enough to drive the carrier frequency to 16khz. As I said, with good ears it is a quiet beeping, if it is louder, or the box is not cooling properly, then something is wrong with it
