I had to buy an adapter for my bike. It finally fits, but is it possible that my bike is "too wide"? I can't get the part clamped with the adapter, it just seems too wide and doesn't fit in. Sorry, I'm a bit of a beginner and need help.

I only ever use the roller with my racing bike, and everything fits perfectly. Unfortunately, I can't help you any further. Chillsense's answer is correct.

On the lever side, you can screw the centring piece in or out.
