What experiences have you had with the sweat? Does it attack the bike firmly? Or does your bike rust? What do you do about it? Do you spray something on it like sweat protection? Or what do you use to clean the bike after training? Many thanks for your support!

Helpful answer

-Towels on handlebars
-Sweat catcher stretched from saddle to handlebars
-Dry off after riding
-Protect the bolts on the seat post and bottle cage with additional assembly grease.

In principle, I also recommend checking the bottle cage screws from time to time after regular riding.
They are often full of sweat and water and rot or rust away.

There are practical sweat catchers from Wahoo and co. that you can stretch from the seat post to the handlebars. Also use terry cloth over the handlebars and stem and dry them after every ride. In my experience, the seat post and its attachment are particularly critical.

I haven't noticed anything critical with carbon, apart from the deposits. Aluminium, on the other hand, really doesn't like sweat. The stem has started to corrode on the inside. But simply wiping it down and washing it properly from time to time should be fine.
