The Ei414 can deliver either a pulse signal or a continuous switching signal through the relays to the universal transmitters. A dip switch also allows for a delayed timed response. The specific signal type is determined by the requirements of the OEM universal sensor.

The Ei414 contains three mains voltage relays (up to 250V AC / 5 Amperes). The relay contacts operate with mains power or with battery backup in the event of a power failure.

The Ei414 features a 3-way key switch. In the "On" mode, the Ei414 responds to a "Fire" or "CO" signal. In the "Off" mode, the Ei414 does not respond to RadioLINK signals. In the "Test" mode, the Ei414 only responds to a "Test Signal" or a "Repeated Remote Test Signal" (e.g., from an Ei450 or Ei412). Upon receiving a test signal, the corresponding relay (Fire or CO) is activated. Upon receiving a repeated remote test signal, the fire relay is activated.

The Ei414 uses RadioLINK multi-repeater, multi-path technology to ensure very robust and reliable RF signal coverage. Although it is primarily designed for interfacing with a Warden Call or similar telecare system, the versatility of the electrically isolated contacts of the Ei414 means that it can also be used to switch many other OEM devices.
