Cylindrical roller bearings with cages are units that consist of solid outer and inner rings as well as cylindrical roller rows. The outer rings have fixed flanges on both sides or are flange-less. The inner rings are available in different designs:
Single-row:
- N = Inner ring with 2 flanges, outer ring is flange-less
- NU = Inner ring without flanges
- NJ = Inner ring with 1 flange on the inner ring
- NUP = Inner ring with 1 fixed flange and 1 loose flange sleeve
Double-row:
- NN = Double-row cylindrical roller bearing
- NNU = Double-row cylindrical roller bearing
The cage prevents the cylindrical rollers from touching each other during rolling. The cylindrical roller bearings are very rigid, can withstand high radial loads, and are suitable for higher speeds due to the cage. The bearings are dismountable, making them easier to install and remove. Both bearing rings can thus achieve a tight fit.
The different designs are indicated by so-called suffixes:
- C3, C4 = Bearing clearance class
- E = Reinforced design
- EX = Reinforced design
- M1 = Solid brass cage, two-part, roller-guided
- M1A = Solid brass cage, two-part, flange-guided on the outer ring
- TVP2 = Solid plastic cage
- JP3 = Steel sheet cage.
Special feature: Reinforced design, solid brass cage, two-part, flange-guided on the outer ring.
