The clamp current sensor Z3512A is suitable for connection to digital multimeters with an input resistance of 5 –10 MW at V~. Due to its high measurement sensitivity, it can detect and measure currents in ground loops, as well as leakage or fault currents in the grounding of single-phase or three-phase networks. By switching to higher current ranges, it can also be used as a current sensor for high-current applications with very high transmission accuracy.

The current sensor is used to extend AC measurement ranges. In conjunction with display and recording devices, AC currents in conductors and busbars can be measured without the need to interrupt them. The secondary connection is made via permanently connected cables with touch-protected connection plugs. A protective circuit prevents the generation of high voltages when the secondary circuit is interrupted.
