Grüezi Sorgenk1nd ! The bamboo wood comes from China. On the Diaqua website it also says: Wood from controlled and sustainable cultivation (FSC® certified). This information persuaded me to buy this toilet seat, despite the fact that the wood comes from China. I think the toilet seat is really great and I am totally satisfied... I find it much better than all kinds of plastic. Hope this is useful. Have a nice evening ! LG
