The height is not the problem. I think the balls spike forwards and don't get picked up. What kind of floor are the balls lying on? You could do a test.
Good for smaller gardens because you have to empty it again and again. I no longer use mine. Selling it now for 50 francs.

Sorry, but my specimen is in the garage waiting to be taken away for disposal. On a tarmac surface, (dry!) leaves can be collected; on the lawn and in wet conditions, the grapples fly away as soon as a few leaves are stirred up. Maybe I'm using it wrong, but if you want, you can pick up the once used part (incl. 3 grabs to be reassembled) for free... (pheim7@iclpoud.com)

Well... small branches etc work... but if it's round and smooth then it doesn't really work.
I don't know, but it works great with cherry leaves, you can also pick up grass. I am thrilled.
