Condition monitoring of windows and doors. The window contact/door contact is a battery-operated wireless sensor using magnetic field technology for monitoring the status of windows and doors. It detects whether windows or doors are tilted/open or closed and can trigger various scenes based on this information. When a window or door is opened or closed, the sensor sends a wireless signal to the HomePilot. This signal can be used in the HomePilot as automation, thereby triggering a scene. For example, when the patio door is opened, the HomePilot deactivates the time automation for the patio door's roller shutter through the scene "Patio Door Open." The window sensor/door sensor can be easily attached using the included adhesive strips and can be removed without hassle during renovations or moves.

Unique in the smart home sector is the extra slim design of the window/door contact. This allows the sensor to be discreetly installed in the window frame, making it invisible from both the inside and outside. Thanks to its two operating modes, the device can be used on both windows and doors. When a DuoFern window/door contact is integrated into the HomePilot Smart Home alongside the radiator actuator, energy consumption can be further optimized. The battery-operated wireless sensor informs the system, for example, when a window is tilted or opened, and the heating is then adjusted accordingly. Once the window is closed again, the radiators will heat up once more. Additionally, the window/door contact enhances security. Residents can check from afar whether all windows are indeed closed. Alternatively, they can receive email notifications if a window or door is opened while no one is home. This allows users to act quickly and, for instance, alert the police or a security service.
