Blaupunkt Bremen SQR 46 DAB
Blaupunkt Bremen was a reference at the time. Often more expensive than the car where it was installed.
Now Made in Chi.a and all over... too bad. Miserable DAB reception, operation of the transmitter memory buttons purely random functional, menu navigation I do not know ... Jammer pity such a quality label to disgrace. Drove only about 20Km. with me, then back in the box and goodbye!

What you would expect from an (expensive) Blaupunkt radio. It has a lot of functions and fits perfectly into a newtimer in terms of design. Thanks to the short installation depth, the device fits well in the slot of old vehicles. I was very pleasantly surprised by the sound quality. I had installed a Blaupunkt radio from the noughties and then made a 1:1 comparison. Wow. The lighting can be set in different colours to match the other cockpit lighting. It's also dimmable and looks very nice and rich.
I haven't tried out telephony and DAB yet.
Pro
The radio was installed in a Mercedes W124 from 1989.
I really like the look and the colour of the lighting, which can be adapted to the vehicle.
The radio housing is very short at the back due to the lack of a CD drive, which makes it easier to install in the radio slot.
I use the radio mainly for listening to the radio via DAB. In each case, good reception was achieved with the supplied windscreen antenna (12V antenna power supply activated in the radio settings) and, on a trial basis, with an FM/DAB splitter via the original Hirschmann antenna.
Unfortunately, searching for and saving DAB stations is very cumbersome and the radio often hangs up when searching for DAB stations and remains stuck for minutes.
Since listening to DAB stations otherwise works well, I do not assume that the radio has a technical defect.
The look of the radio corresponds to the 80s/90s and is, in my opinion, very well made.
However, for me, the price/performance ratio of this radio is not right.
I am satisfied with the radio, but I would not consider buying it again because of the price (as of October 2020).

Visually, a feast for the eyes built into the classic. Unfortunately, the workmanship is not without flaws everywhere. The installation box does not hold the radio firmly. When pressed firmly, the radio visibly moves. This is due to play in the locking mechanism.
Unfortunately, the rotary knobs are also a little fiddly. It is also a pity that the Bluetooth function does not have its own button. It has to be selected in a cumbersome way by pressing the input button several times.
Due to the short installation depth, there is sufficient space for cable management.
Highlights:
- Perfectly matches the interior of my Porsche 944 in style and LED coloration
- Easy to install and set-up with iPhone, transforming the comfort of the driving experience
- High quality materials and construction. Sounds excellent.
Frustrations:
- The metal sleeve provided is slightly too big for the 944 radio opening. I suggest re-using the existing radio sleeve.
- The radio is much shorter than old ones, so it must be securely fitted.
- The interface of the LED screen takes some getting used to. Patience required to master of all its features.
