The Echomax® XPS/XCT ultrasonic sensors utilize ultrasonic technology for level measurement in a wide range of liquids and bulk materials. They are flood-proof, resistant to steam and aggressive chemicals, and can be installed without a flange. The XPS series offers versions for various measuring ranges up to 40 m and a maximum temperature of +95 °C. In applications with high temperatures, the XCT series can be used. It measures levels in measuring ranges up to 12 m and temperatures of up to +145 °C. During operation, the Echomax ultrasonic sensors emit acoustic pulses in a narrow sound cone. The level measuring transducer measures the time taken between sending the pulse and receiving the echo, calculating the distance from the sensor to the material.
