Angular contact ball bearings have raceways in the inner and outer rings that are offset in the direction of the bearing axis. They are designed for bearing arrangements that must accommodate combined loads, i.e., loads that act simultaneously in both radial and axial directions. Single-row angular contact ball bearings can only support axial loads in one direction. Under radial loads, an axial force is generated within the bearing, which must be balanced by an opposing force. Therefore, the bearings are positioned against a second bearing.

Single-row angular contact ball bearings are available in two versions for different purposes:

• Basic designs for bearing arrangements with single bearings (BEP)
• Bearings for universal adaptation (BECBP)
