The infrared thermometer allows you to measure the surface temperature of vulnerable walls, floors, ceilings, or windows without contact. At the same time, the device monitors the ambient temperature and relative humidity. From this data, the dew point is calculated. The closer the surface temperature is to the dew point temperature, the higher the risk of mold formation on the measured surface. For example, if the measuring device shows an ambient temperature of 20 °C and a humidity of 65%, the dew point temperature is 13.2 °C. What does this mean? The air in a room must condense at all points that are cooler than 13.2 °C, which means that water droplets will form there, potentially leading to mold or mildew later on. An integrated traffic light display and bar graph evaluate the measurements in relation to mold risk, allowing you to respond with targeted heating and ventilation if necessary.
