The VC 292 can measure currents up to 60 A directly with the enclosed clamp adapter and, like all devices in the VC-200 series, is optimised for training. Measurement of high currents: The enclosed CLA-60 current clamp adapter is suitable for non-contact measurement of alternating currents up to 60 A. The distribution of 3-phase circuits can be determined quickly and reliably. The circuit does not need to be disconnected during the measurement. The Voltcraft VC-292 displays the exact measured value in amperes in the current clamp switch position, as the clamp and the multimeter are perfectly matched. Razor-sharp display: Impressive, clearly legible EBTN display in bright surroundings as well as in the dark. With a 7.9 cm (3.1 inch) display diagonal, all digits and symbols are shown in a much larger size, thus avoiding reading errors. Test socket monitoring: The correct assignment of the test sockets is shown on the display depending on the selected measurement parameter. This is a great help for beginners and students to avoid operating errors. If an incorrect connection is made despite the display, a warning tone sounds. Safety when changing batteries: The housing must be opened to change batteries or fuses. For safety reasons, the test leads should not be connected. In contrast to simple conventional devices, this meter is designed so that the housing cannot be opened while the test leads are connected. Test leads can only be reconnected after the housing has been closed, as the test sockets are mechanically locked. Safety due to wear indicator: The measuring cable is double insulated in two colours. If the first layer of insulation is damaged, a different coloured insulation appears. Ideal for training devices to replace worn test leads at an early stage.
