The VCC 1212-20 from Votronic is a fully automatic, non-isolated battery-to-battery charging converter designed for operation at the 13-pin trailer socket of the towing vehicle for caravans and camper cabins. The 1212-20 charging converter (booster) from the "VCC" series enables mobile charging of supply batteries (living space/on-board batteries) from the alternator (starter battery) while driving. Additionally, the device provides a complete IU1oU2 charging characteristic during travel. The maximum charging current of the VCC 1212-20 is 20A, and it can work with lead-acid, gel, AGM1, AGM2, and LiFePO4 batteries. This device charges a 12V battery from a 12V battery or alternator. Unlike conventional separation relays, the charging voltage is lowered or raised according to the charging program specification, which is particularly relevant in connection with EURO Norm 6 and 6+ vehicles.

This universally applicable multi-talent for on-board batteries in classic lead-acid, lead-gel, or lead-AGM as well as modern lithium LiFePO4 technology ensures that the 8 selectable charging programs allow for a monitoring-free, rapid, and gentle full charge from any state of charge, followed by complete maintenance and care of the battery. Even on short trips, the battery is charged with full current. Connected 12V consumers are automatically supplied, even when the on-board network is heavily loaded. The automatic power regulation ensures the necessary safety and starting capability of the vehicle.

The VCC 1212-20 is designed for B2B charging of 12V batteries from a 12V alternator or another battery (not galvanically isolated). It is intended for operation at a 13-pin trailer socket according to ISO 11446. The maximum charging current is 20A, the input voltage range is 12V, and it charges 12V batteries. The recommended battery capacity is between 50 and 160Ah.
