Protect creepers from ground frost

Many potted and potted plants have to spend the winter outdoors. It is therefore all the more important to pack them well and protect them as best as possible during the cold season. The plant pot should never have direct contact with the ground in order to avoid possible freezing and to keep the gill hole free. The Windhager cold protection pot base consists of a thick polystyrene plate that acts as an insulating layer between the soil and the plant pot. In this way, the roots of the plant remain well protected from rising cold.

How to prepare your potted plants optimally for winter

Cover the plant pot: A cold protection foil helps to protect potted plants from frost during the cold season. The plant pot can, for example, be covered with Windhager bubble wrap, a coconut felt mat or a protective pot cover to reduce the risk of the root ball freezing through. Place the plant pot on the protective pot base.

Wrap the plant: In order to protect the branches of the plants as well, they should be wrapped in a winter fleece or a fleece bonnet, for example. Make sure that the entire plant is covered and that no branches or leaves are visible.

On top: A cold-insulating wintering tent from Windhager for the terrace or balcony provides the plants with a roof over their heads and shields them reliably from freezing rain, snow and ice.
