Do the outdoor lights also work with the old bridge (the round one)?
Yes, the Lily spot lamp should also be compatible with the first version of the bridge, because the round 1.0 bridge is probably still successfully in use in many households. It serves as a control unit between the router, network and the corresponding Hue or ZigBee components. Those who can do without Apple Homekit support do not necessarily need to update to the new square 2.0 / 2.1 bridge.
Because with the introduction of the new square bridge generation, only the support for Apple Homekit was introduced. Those who do not use Apple devices and services will continue to be up to date with the round control unit. Hardly anyone knew it, but with it you can also use all services such as Google Home or the voice assistant Amazon Alexa.
The current Hue Bridge's are also already designed for ZigBee 3.0, but at the same time remain fully compatible with older luminaires with ZigBee and especially the ZigBee Light Link (ZLL) protocol.
