Has anyone found a transformer for this? One user says that one with DC output voltage would also work. But TP-Link says AC.

I don't know the inverter in the device. Have a look at Conrad Electronics. You're sure to find an AC transformer here. Otherwise, leave it with the integrated battery. It lasts a very long time. In my case it lasts about 4 months. Charging is easy

You can take a "traco" brand transformer, perfect for putting in the Gr.1 box.
