Has Google announced that it will continue Nest Protect or discontinue it (at least as far as Switzerland is concerned)? If the latter, when will Nest Protect be discontinued? Otherwise, are there any announcements as to when a 3rd Gen (3rd product generation) will be coming? - As of today: can one buy this product without hesitation and trust in a supported lifetime of approx. 10 years?

Google has written that they will not continue to develop the Nest Protect, but they will continue to provide SW updates for at least 5 years. By certification, Nest products have a lifetime of 10 years.
