Question about Aqara Stroke G3
Hello everyone, I bought the Aqara Camera Hub G3, unfortunately I noticed that when I am not at home no picture is displayed in Apple HomeKit and the camera is not accessible. When I am at home it works without problems with the Apple HomeKit app, does anyone know what the problem is? It always works in the Aqara app, regardless of whether I'm at home or not.
I found that by having the phone/apple tv time both setting set to "Automatic" worked for me, I saw the AppleTV had the time/time zone set manually. Also, if you have a manual DNS setting on the Apple TV (in Network options), that impacts Homekit too
I've heard that Apple's Homekit has certain limitations. You would probably just have to use the Aqara app.
with the aqara home 'camera cloud storage' system (approx. $50/year) it works perfectly for my 2 video cameras
If you have external access to your Apple Home Kit devices, then it could be that you have not enabled the stream when you are absent? Look in Home Kit at the camera under Settings - Recording settings - When absent...
As far as I know, this had to do with the Icloud. You can only set the recording settings to stream when you are away if the Icloud is activated or something.
